You heard it on The Mike and Mike Show.  Now, take a look at the husky with a fondness for Gwen Stefani.  He's really singing along!

If you would like to help some very talented local young people, check this message from Representative Chris Greeley...

Hey Mike!

This is State Representative Chris Greeley writing with a BIG favor.

I represent Glenburn, Corinth, Kenduskeag and Levant in the Maine Legislature. I'm writing in hope that you'll mention on your show, or possibly do a P.S.A., because  a girls softball team is trying to raise funds to get to a Regional Tournament in Connecticut. I was contacted and made a small donation, but the team is still trying to raise an additional $1000.00 to $1500.00 in order to help the 14 girls on the team, who are from Glenburn, Old Town, Bangor, Hampden, Dixmont, Bradford and Corinth get to the August event. While they've successfully raised some money, the additional funds would allow the team to visit the Yale Peabody Museum, Central Park Zoo, Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty.

The girls would benefit from both the combined experience of competing in this wonderful sporting event, but also culturally benefit from visiting our country's largest city and most famous attractions.

If you're able to mention this, folks can either call me directly at 884-6000 for details, or merely make a check out in any amount to: "Big League Softball," and send them to Carey Besse, 295 Hudson Rd., Glenburn, ME 04401.

The team will be representing our area in the Regional Big League Tournament, sponsored by the Little League. With the support of your listeners, they hope to eventually attend the World Series in Michigan on August 10th.

Check MUST BE RECEIVED by July 31st, in order for the team to get them in time.

If there's any way you can include a mention of this as soon as possible, we would be VERY grateful.

Thank you so much, Mike (and Mike).

Chris Greeley

A HUGE thank you to everyone involved!

New photos continue on the next page!

The 9th annual Mike and Mike Manna Food Drive was the most successful ever!
34 TONS OF FOOD WAS COLLECTED!

 THE MIKE & MIKE PAGE

Look!  It's Mike and Mike at the "Frogs, Logs, & Bogs Road Ride!"
Thanks to everyone who showed up to ride with Mike & Mike, and to support the Bangor Land Trust.  It's Mike & Mike on a Bike!

Hey, everybody, follow us!

Biking is fun with one, but two Mikes on a bike? -Awesome-

Mike Elliott shares a private moment with his biceps.  "Tickets To The Gun Show?"

Mike and Mike and Mike (Postmaster Mike Mitchell, that is) during a recent food drive at the Brewer Post Office

Mike and Mike on stage at the Penobscot Theatre during a recent
series of "25 plays in 25 days."  Our play was called "Moral and Political Lessons Of Wyoming."  To their credit, the audience did not throw anything at us.  God bless them.

In addition to the radio show, Mike Dow also teaches a class at the
New England School Of Communications.  www.nescom.edu
Here is a photo of my most recent class on the last day of school.
These kids are going places!

One of our favorite segments is "Ask A Vet."  Here is
Dr. Mike McCaw from Veazie Vet.  Mike joins our show
on alternate Monday mornings at 8:30.  If you have a question
about your dog or cat, ask Dr. Mike!

With Dr. Mark Hanks from Kindred Spirits Vet Clinic in Orrington.
Not only is he great with animals and our listeners, he's also a heck of
a bowler!

Recently, Governor John Baldacci proclaimed December 20th
as "Mike and Mike Day" throughout the state of Maine.  We don't
deserve such an honor but we happily accepted thinking it would get
us a much better parking spot at the radio station.  The truth?  We still
have to park out back next to the dumpster.  The governor is a swell guy
and a snappy dresser!

As you can see here.  Governor Baldacci, the amazing Kaye
Leibowitz and Mike and Mike during a recent arrival of troops
at Bangor International Airport.

Nathan and Scott do "The Daily Dish" live from the lobby of
the historic Penobscot Theatre on a special broadcast of The Mike
And Mike Show.

Recently, we visited "Moose Crossing" in Trenton for an excellent
breakfast.  Mike Elliott checks the menu for anything Spam-related.
No Spam, but they do have blueberry pancakes the size of tractor tires!

The lovely ladies of Mom-A-Palooza greet some troops coming
through Bangor on their way to Iraq.

Speaking of Mom-A-Palooza, here is a photo of the recording
session for "Brahms' Lullaby" Taken in the recording studio at The New England School of Communications.
The string quartet is from the Bangor
Symphony Orchestra and they came out to record during a blizzard!
The sound in that room was incredible.  It was such a treat to hear them
play and then hear the voices of "The Moms" singing with the quartet.

In this photo you see one the NESCOM studio amps.
This one was used to
to record the guitar solo on "Encyclopedia."
The tiger xylophone was played by Mike Dow on the same song.
The Moms and Spilled Milk each signed a key after the recording.

This is Mike Dow's niece, Aleah along with Mayberry at Grand Lake
in Orient.  I'm including this to show that, on rare days off,  we sometimes get to have "family fun" outside of Mike and Mike.  If our boss is reading this,
could we please have another day off before the snow comes?

Another photo with Aleah.   Aleah and her Mom and Dad live in North Carolina.

We've been busy lately and luckily, I remembered to bring
my camera!  Here are some photos from the recent Rick
Charette benefit concert at EMCC.   We really enjoy
spending time with Rick and watching him perform.  He's one
of the nicest people you could ever meet and as you can see,
kids love him.

Our good friend, Mandy Exly.  Hear her every day from 10:00 am-2:00 pm on Kiss 94.5

Mandi is truly amazing and we're lucky to work with her everyday.
It's always a pleasure to welcome our friend, Xiao-Lu Li,
"The Maestro" of The Bangor Symphony Orchestra.  He is
without question one of the most positive and dynamic people
we have ever met.

You need to see the Bangor Symphony Orchestra live!

We always enjoy broadcasting live from The Penobscot Theatre.
"Communicating Doors" is their latest play and we arranged
a live broadcast with a "time travel" theme.  Our plan of
meeting an actual time traveler didn't pan out but we did manage
to hide a time capsule somewhere in the building.  In the box are
a letter from us, 2 tickets to the opening night of "Communicating
Doors" (in the event that the person who discovers the time
capsule is able to travel back in time when they find the
time capsule) and we also included a copy of the mono mix
of The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper" album.

Left to right, Mike Elliott, Scott Levy (aritistic director of the
Penobscot Theatre), Mike Dow and our engineer, Adam Osborne.

Our friends Nathan and Scott from the Penobscot Theatre visited recently to do the Daily Dish.  Kat has been temporarily upstaged
by our friends and she looks thrilled!

One of the great pleasures in life...listening to The Kruger Brothers.
These are three of the greatest musicians and nicest human beings
you could meet.  To have them play live on our show was a great thrill for us.

More with The Kruger Brothers live on The Mike and Mike Show!

Mike Elliott onstage prior to B.B. King's recent show at the Bangor Auditorium.

Mike Dow was invited to join B.B. King on his bus after the show.  B.B. said, "forgive me for not getting up young man but I'm 81, I'm diabetic and I'm a little tired."  God bless B.B. King...he is one of the all time greats.

Weekday Mornings from 5am to 10am and now...Saturday too!
Late Breaking!....check out "Mike and Mike Take 2" on Saturday mornings from 6am to 9am.  We realize that you can't listen every minute and you might have missed some of our favorite Mike and Mike moments through the week.  Listen for some of our favorite Mike and Mike moments each Saturday morning!

The Mike and Mike Story
MIKE AND MIKE WERE BORN AND RAISED IN THE AROOSTOOK COUNTY TOWN OF HOULTON, ALSO KNOWN AS THE "SHIRETOWN" AND THE "COUNTY SEAT."  MIKE ELLIOTT WAS A PRECOCIOUS YOUNGSTER WITH A KNACK FOR DIABOLICAL HOOLIGANISM.   HE WAS ALSO A SICKLY YOUNGSTER AND THIS IS HOW MIKE AND MIKE BECAME AQUAINTED.  SINCE THEY LIVED SO CLOSE TO EACH OTHER,  IT WAS UP TO MIKE DOW TO GATHER MIKE ELLIOTT'S HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS FROM HIS TEACHERS AND BRING THEM TO  HIS HOUSE.  THIS MADE MIKE ELLIOTT'S MOM VERY HAPPY BUT IT MADE MIKE ELLIOTT VERY ANGRY.  HE HAS BEEN GETTING BACK AT MIKE DOW EVER SINCE.

AFTER BEING BANISHED FROM THE LOCAL COLLEGE RADIO STATION IN WHAT THE DEAN WOULD ONLY REFER TO AS "THE MONKEY IN THE FOOT LOCKER" INCIDENT,  MIKE ELLIOTT QUICKLY LANDED A PART TIME RADIO JOB AT HOULTON'S ONLY COMMERCIAL RADIO STATION, WHOU.  THIS JOB UNFORTUNATELY WAS SHORT LIVED DUE TO MIKE ELLIOTT'S HABIT OF INTERRUPTING BROADCASTS OF RED SOX GAMES WITH SOUND EFFECTS OF GUN FIRE,  FARM EQUIPMENT AND HIS OWN INCOHERANT HOOTING WHENEVER RICO PETROCELLI WENT TO BAT.  FROM THERE, IT WAS A DIZZYING ARRAY OF MOVING UP AND DOWN THE DIAL…FROM TUCSON TO ORLANDO, PHOENIX AND TAMPA.

MEANWHILE, MIKE DOW WORKED ALONE AT A SERIES OF RADIO STATIONS WAITING FOR ELLIOTT TO SMARTEN UP AND RETURN TO MAINE.  FINALLY, HE DID.

THE MIKE AND MIKE SHOW WAS BORN ON MARCH 9TH, 1998.  SINCE THE TWO MIKES HAD BEEN FRIENDS SINCE THEY WERE YOUNGSTERS,  IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE THE TWO PAIRED UP ON THE AIR.    THE MIKE AND MIKE SHOW CONTINUES TO PROSPER. THE TWO COUNTY BOYS "SHOW UP,  DRINK ALOT OF COFFEE,  AND SAY SOME STUFF OR SUMPIN'."  AS ELLIOTT PUT IT RECENTLY.   OVER THE YEARS, MIKE AND MIKE HAVE BEEN RECEIVED TEN AWARDS FROM “MAINE ASSOCIATION OF BROADCASTERS”.  CLEARLY, THE JUDGES HAVE NOT ACTUALLY HEARD THE SHOW.
